Decorative openwork mount (incomplete) for wood and leather

Description:

This decorative mount was allocated to the Stewartry Museum by the Treasure Trove Advisory Panel in 1998.  It was found using a metal detector by Mr Philip Need.

 

Openwork mount - probably incomplete - in a floral/foliate design.  Five small projections on the reverse would allow the mount to be fixed to a wood or leather backing; part of a larger decorative mount.
