Description:

This highly decorated helmet is one of the kind worn by the bodyguard of the Elector of Saxony.  The Elector of Saxony's arms appear on the comb of the helmet and it bears the mark of the City of Nuremberg and and unidentified armourer.  Each side of the helmet is decorated with a classical figure and bands of etched and gilt scrollwork and foliage.
