Doon Valley Museum, 2nd February – 28th April (Free Admission). A fascinating exhibition which explores prints and their development, showing a wide range of techniques used by print-makers. The exhibition features East Ayrshire’s own collections of historic and more contemporary screen-prints, etchings, lithographs and more, and includes works from Scotland, England and across Europe.

They can offer spectacles of stillness and tranquillity or in contrast, movement and turmoil. This exhibition explores this theme and features paintings by Scottish, English and continental artists.

Edward Atkinson Hornel (1864-1933) was a member of that loose association of young Scottish artists active towards the end of the 19th century who we now know as ‘the Glasgow Boys’. Along with his close friend and collaborator, George Henry, Hornel was arguably among the most experimental of the painters within this group.
