This sunny scene is by Ayrshire born artist George Henry. Henry is noted for his involvement with the Kirkcudbright art community as well as his influence in the Glasgow School that pulled them towards a richer use of colour. Henry was associated with the Glasgow Boys and is regarded as one of the second wave of members along with other artists such as his friend and collaborator EA Hornel, James Guthrie, EA Walton, and Thomas Whitelaw Hamilton among others.
