Andrew Law was an artist and educator born in Kilmaurs, East Ayrshire, but for many he is perhaps best known for his portrait painting. With his style always teetering on the edge of mainstream popularity, Law has often been touted as a bit of an 'unsung hero'.
Law made his living undertaking private commissions & lecturing at the Glasgow School of Art. All 11 Kilmarnock Provosts from 1908-1954 were painted by Law, many of which are now held in our collections.
