Penkill Castle Interior of Hall

This print is based on a painting by the artist Arthur Hughes. Hughes, though not a member of the Brotherhood, was closely associated with the Pre-Raphaelites. He was friendly with Scott and Alice Boyd and visited them at Penkill, completing several paintings of the Castle.  It is very likely that the two figures in this picture are Scott and Boyd. Scott included this print as an illustration in his Autobiographical Notes.
