'Eriskay Isle, Outer Hebrides, 1934.

 

Children of Tempest. I consider this one of my best photographs. These shy children, for me, sum up the Hebrides.'

This photograph of four children sitting in a boat was taken at Acarsaid Mhor. It shows some of the children from the MacMillan family (Clann Aonghais MhicIagan). From left to right, the children are Mary Ann Ritchie, John MacMillan (Shonnaidh Mor, Iagan), Margaret MacMillan (Peigi), and Ann MacKinnon (Annag).
