'Rural Buildings. East Cluden Mill, Dumfriesshire, 1959. Two storied mill with date 1786 and two water wheels. The water wheel has powered a waulk-mill and a corn-mill at this point of the stream since the sixteenth century. It is not uncommon to find two mills, side by side, or even combined in a single building.'
