The Big Tattie

The Wigtown Root Show was one of the most popular events in the town and is included in a number of Nicolson's images.  Here we see "Kelly" - identified by an arrow! - in a nonchalant pose holding the Big Tattie.  The photograph might not quite be up to the standard of modern computer generated images but it does illustrate the lighter side of life in a Scottish small town in the early years of the 20th century.
