Bust of James Watt

Description:

Bust of James Watt (1736-1819), Scottish inventor who improved upon the Newcomen steam engine with his Watt steam engine, bringing about fundamental changes to the Industrial Revolution.

 

Bust is Parian ware, a type of unglazed porcelain that imitates the appearance of marble.
