The House in Which the Poet Burns Died 21st July 1796

A sepia pen and ink drawing by William L Leitch.  At this time Leitch was under contract to Andrew Smith, Boxmaker, of Mauchline, Ayrshire (1820 - 1830) and was employed in painting miniature scenes on the lids of snuffboxes and other "Mauchlineware".  He became tutor in watercolour drawing to Queen Victoria and the Royal Family.
