John O'Reley

John O'Reley, known working date 1835. John O'Reley was an itinerant merchant who may also have been a silversmith. He was imprisoned for debt in Dumfries in 1837 and his stock was disposed of at a public sale. Despite the quantity of silverware sold, there are very few examples of his work in collections of Scottish provincial silver.
