Keir Hardie - 100 years on

Essays 1st and 2nd Series - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hardie did not master reading and writing until he was in his 'teens':  thereafter books became his constant companions.  At one time in Cumnock he was reduced to selling some of his precious volumes to pay household bills.

Book presented to Hardie by Emily Pankhurst.
