Estate Plan 'Boreland belonging to burgh of Kirkcudbright'

The Boreland was owned by Kirkcudbright Town Council and let to tenants.  This plan was commissioned by the Council from the Kirkcudbright land surveyor, John Gillone.  It is a good example of a late 18th century estate plan, and reflects a more analytical and commercial approach to estate management from that time.   A large estate map drawn in ink with colour wash and annotated with place and field names with information on field acreages etc.
