Estate Plan 'Boreland belonging to burgh of Kirkcudbright'

Period:
18th Century
Description:

The Boreland was owned by Kirkcudbright Town Council and let to tenants.  This plan was commissioned by the Council from the Kirkcudbright land surveyor, John Gillone.  It is a good example of a late 18th century estate plan, and reflects a more analytical and commercial approach to estate management from that time.

A large estate map drawn in ink with colour wash and annotated with place and field names with information on field acreages etc.
