Share from the Chilcarroch Plough

Description:

The original grid share used with the Chilcarroch plough.  It was redressed in the 19th century by Mr Milhench, the blacksmith at Mochrum Smiddy, who added the long point on the tip of the share.

 

Grid shares like this were often used for opening up land which had been out of use for some time.
