Plumbago or 'Black Lead'

Description:

An irregular shaped mineral specimen.  The accession register records the provenance of this as 'Dunnotrie, Minnigaff', but the case label had 'Talnotrie, 6 miles north-east of Newton Stewart'.

 

Donated to the Stewartry Museum by Peter McLeary in 1895.  The specimen has a circular label with '119' printed on it.
