Bonnet making

'Am Awfu' Ill With The No Weel' postcard

Description:
It was not until the introduction of Australian machine spun yarn in the 1840s and the spread of knitting machines in the 1870s that the craft of bonnet making began to die out.  Nonetheless, six centuries of popularity have ensured that the stereotype Scot is rarely spearated from his bonnet!
