Sanquar Gloves, Duke design knitting pattern

Description:

This pattern doubtlessly takes its name from the Dukes of Queensberry and Buccleuch who were notable patrons of the hand knitting industry in the last century.

 

This pattern was supplied to the Handicrafts Publication Committee by the Scottish Women's Rural Institutes (Dumfries Federation).  The crowned heart motif of the SWRI is on the front cover.
