Galston Blanket Mill

The mill in Galston made bonnets and was the first to produce the Ayrshire Blanket on an industrial scale.  It was run by the S.C.W.S. or Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society.  It was also where the bonnets were produced for the Scottish Regiments who fought at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
