Boxed set of grain weights, County of Dumfries, c1879

Description:

Set of 28 small weights to measure standard grains.  Each has a compartment within a wooden box lined with brown velvet.  16 are solid weights with peg handles and 12 are pieces of wire (under a glass panel).  Tweezers are included in the set.  Set number "1192".  Verification stamps are present on the 16 largest weights.
