Doll with china head and blue dress

Description:

This is an early example of a child's doll, in a faded blue dress of silk, which is unfortunately badly perished. The chest and head are porcelain, with black eyes, blonde hair in a blue ribbon. The arms are plaster. The legs and body are stuffed, showing black stockings, cream shoes. The petticoat is of white lawn with lace trim.

This doll belonged to the donor as a child, dating it to the beginning of the twentieth century.
