Gird 'n' cleek

Description:
Made by the local blacksmith, this gird 'n' cleek was played with by its owner as a small boy in the 1930s.  It was a popular toy of its time.  The gird or hoop was pushed along with the cleek across the cobbled or stone streets and was said to make a terrible clatter.
