School Sampler

Description:

Victorian school girls made samplers to demonstrate their sewing skills. Mary Samson was 11 years old when she made this one at Glencairn School in June 1882.

 

This sampler was donated to the Dick Institute by a descendent of the maker. It is in very good condition.
