Washing Dolly

After laundry had been scrubbed on a wash-board with soap it was transferred to a tub of boiling water and a washing dolly such as this could be used to 'plunge' the washing in order to force the water into the garments and rinse them of soap.  This one is made from wood but they could also be made from copper or zinc.
