Horse boot used on Sanquhar Golf Course

20th Century
Description:
In 1921 Sanquhar Golf Club purchased a horse-drawn mower.  Horse boots were used to protect the turf from hoof marks.  The availability of horses, however, was a problem and in 1927 the club opted for an Atco motor mower.
