Lisbeth

This is a portrait of the artist's wife Elizabeth Wilson. They met when she was working in an arts supply shop in Kilmarnock and were married in 1912.   They made their home in Glasgow and had one daughter, Margaret, born in 1914. The painting Young Child Wearing White Bonnet , also in the collection at the Dick Institute, is believed to be of Margaret.
