Scott was a poet as well as an artist and in 1854 his Poems was published.  A second edition containing some new work and illustrated by himself was published in 1875. He received assistance with the illustrations from Lawrence Alma Tadema during a visit they both made to Penkill Castle in 1874.   Acquired with Assistance from the National Fund for Acquisitions administered with Government Funds by the National Museums of Scotland.
