Punchbowl

Punchbowl from the Queensberry Arms Inn, used by Robert Burns and his circle of friends in Sanquhar.   "...I had put up at Bailie Whigham's in Sanquhar, the only tolerable inn in the place".  Ellisland, March 23, 1789   At this time the Inn was owned by Mr Edward Whigham (1750 - 1823).  He was also Provost of Sanquhar from 1793 to 1796.
