London: printed by R. Noble, the Old Bailey, for T Cadell jun. and W Davies, Strand; W. Creech, Edinburgh. 1801. Second Edition.


Binding: brown leather and marbled paper on board; tooled decoration on the leather; title, vol., place and date in gold on the spine; cream laid end-papers; beige wove paper with marbled edges.

 

Marks: Embossed "Burns Monument Kilmarnock", on all title pages. James McKie private library numbers "56", "57", "58" & "59".

Comment by James McKie: "The first Ed. Of Currie extended to 2000 copies and another Ed.  - this one - of 2000 copies also was called for in… months. James M'Kie. In this - second Ed. - the list of subscribers' names are omitted and the… corrected - additional letter from Gilbert Burns is given in the appendix vol. four. JM'Kie"
