Description:
Maces evolved alongside warhammers from simple club weapons.  They usually had a steel shaft and a head which could be spiked or flanged like this one.  These flanges could pierce armour.  This one has a head of 6 flanges, each pierced with trefoils and a hexagonal shaft beginning with a grip with scalloped hand guards with silk fringes.
