Craigie Castle

This post card is one of a set of thirteen designed by Robert Bryden. There are strong connections between Craigie castle and the family of William Wallace.  The Wallace family name was recorded in Craigie near Kilmarnock (East Ayrshire) as early as 1177, however it was John Wallace of Richardton (Riccarton) who assumed the title of Craigie and adopted the castle there as his main home around 1370.
