Indigo Seeds

Indigo seeds have been used for their deep blue die in Asia for over 5000 years. From the early 17th Century it was the blue dye of choice in Western Europe. This much valued crop was one of many produced throughout the world by the exploitation of local labour and transported back to Britain, to such ports as Ayr.
