Description:
A Covenanter hero,Captain John Paton of Meadowhead in Fenwick, Ayrshire, was executed in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh on 9 May, 1685 for commanding a party of Covenanters at the Battle of Pentland and Bothwell Bridge.
